Francis, later Francisco, P.F. Temple followed an older brother to Los Angeles in the Mexican era. He married Antonia Workman, a daughter of American-California Willam Workman. Their son Walter Pablo Temple and associates founded Temple City in 1923 after persuading the Pacific Electric Railroad to extend its Alhambra line to the new town.
